I’ve been using proxybay.github.io—it’s a GitHub repo that gets updated pretty often. Not perfect, but way better than random Google results.
For checking legitimacy, I open the proxy in a sandboxed browser first. If it doesn’t scream malware or ask for weird downloads, it’s *probably* fine.
