"Static IP vs dynamic IP – which one should I pick for my home network?"
Hey guys, kinda confused here. I’m setting up my home network and keep seeing debates about static ip vs dynamic ip.
Like, does it *really* matter? I just wanna game without lag and keep my stuff secure.
From what I’ve read:
- Static IP is good if you host servers or need remote access (but costs extra?).
- Dynamic IP is easier and cheaper, but might change and cause hiccups?
Anyone got real-world experience? Is the hassle of static ip vs dynamic ip worth it for a casual user? Or am I overthinking this?
Also, does it affect speed or just reliability? Thx in advance!
*(btw, sorry for typos – typing this on my phone lol)*
