I switched to a static ip address last year for my home security cameras. Best decision ever! No more messing with port forwarding every time the IP changed.

Dynamic is great if you don’t care about consistency, but static is a game-changer for reliability.

Check out your ISP’s pricing though—some charge way too much for static IPs. Mine was only $5/month extra, totally worth it.
