My ISP doesn’t even offer static IPs for residential plans, so I had to get creative. Using a Raspberry Pi with DuckDNS (duckdns.org) to keep my dynamic IP in check.
Works like a charm for my needs, but it’s a bit of a hassle. If you can get a static ip address easily, just do it.
Otherwise, DDNS is your friend.
