Which is better for privacy and speed: proxy or VPN? or Proxy or VPN – what’s the best choice for sec

"Proxy or VPN – what’s the best choice for secure browsing?"

hey guys, new here and kinda confused about this whole proxy or vpn thing. like, which one actually keeps my stuff private? i’ve heard VPNs are better for security, but proxies are faster... but idk if that’s true?

also, does a proxy or vpn hide my IP *completely*? or is one of them just half-assing it?

i mostly just wanna stream and browse without my ISP breathing down my neck lol. any tips?

(ps. sorry if this has been asked a million times, but the more i google, the more mixed answers i get smh)

thanks!
