Should You Do Web Scraping in the Back End? Pros, Cons, and Best Practices or Is It a Good Idea to Do

I’ve done web scraping in the back end for a few projects, and honestly, it’s a mixed bag.

Pros:
- You avoid front-end bottlenecks.
- Server-side scraping lets you handle retries and caching way better.

Cons:
- If the site blocks you, your whole server might suffer.
- Legal stuff is sketchy—always check robots.txt!

Tools I’d recommend:
- Scrapy for Python (super powerful).
- Puppeteer if you need JS rendering.
