This might sound dumb, but are you sure the IP is correct? Some routers have different default gateways. Run "ipconfig" in cmd (Windows) or "ifconfig" in Terminal (Mac) and look for "Default Gateway."
Also, when using chrome to access a ip address, sometimes it helps to add a trailing slash, like http://192.168.1.1/.
