I've been using Hola VPN as my proxy chrome extension for a while now, and it’s pretty solid. The free version works well for basic browsing, and it’s super easy to turn on/off.
Only downside is the speed can dip sometimes, but it’s way better than most sketchy ones out there. Plus, no IP leaks so far!
