Is IPv4 Private IP? How Does It Work and When Should You Use It? Alternatively: Is IPv4 Private IP St

"Hey guys, quick question—is ipv4 private ip still a thing? Like, I know we’ve got IPv6 now, but I keep seeing these old-school 192.168.x.x addresses everywhere.

So how does it even work? From what I remember, private IPs are those reserved ranges (10.x, 172.16.x, 192.168.x) that don’t route on the public internet. They’re basically for your local network, right?

But here’s the real Q: when should you actually use them? Like, home networks? Office setups? Or is it all just legacy stuff now?

Kinda confused if is ipv4 private ip still relevant or if we’re all just clinging to it outta habit lol. Any thoughts?"

*(btw, sorry for typos—typed this on my phone while half-asleep haha)*
