"IP allowlisting vs VPN Reddit: which one's actually better for security and access control?"

Hey folks, been digging into this lately and kinda torn. IP allowlisting seems solid for locking things down to specific IPs, but VPNs give more flexibility, especially for remote teams.

But like, is one *really* more secure than the other? Or is it just about use cases?

Also, saw some threads on ip allowlisting vs vpn reddit but opinions were all over the place. Some swear by VPNs for privacy, others say allowlisting’s tighter for access control.

What’s your take? Any real-world pros/cons you’ve run into?

(Also, if anyone’s got horror stories or wins with either, spill the tea lol.)
