Bro, I was in your shoes last year! Started with a Raspberry Pi and Squid, and now I’ve got my own little proxy network.
The key is to start small. DigitalOcean’s docs are *chef’s kiss* for beginners. Just google "how to make a proxy server with Squid" and you’ll find ’em.
Old laptop’s fine too, but a Pi is more fun imo. Less power-hungry, and you can hide it anywhere lol.
