How is IP Address Determined for Instagram? Understanding the Process Behind It

Thanks for all the replies, guys! Super helpful. I tested my VPN with ipleak.net, and it seems to be working fine—no leaks.

One follow-up question though: if Instagram uses my IP for ads and location stuff, does that mean they’re tracking me even if I’m not logged in? Like, if I just visit the site without logging in, do they still grab my IP?

Also, any recommendations for a good free VPN? I’m using one now, but it’s kinda slow.
