"Are Plain Proxies Still Reliable for Basic Web Scraping?"
Hey folks, been using plain proxies for a while now, mostly for some light scraping. But lately, I’m wondering if they’re even worth it anymore? Sites seem to catch on faster, and I get blocked way more often than before.
Are plain proxies still decent for small-scale stuff, or should I just switch to something fancier? I don’t need insane speeds or elite anonymity—just something that works without too much hassle.
Also, anyone got tips to make plain proxies last longer before getting flagged? Like, rotating IPs more often or tweaking request headers?
Kinda curious what y’all think. Are they still a go-to for basic tasks, or are they just too outdated now?
(Also, sorry for any typos—typing this on my phone lol.)
