"Does IP Blocking Actually Work Against DDoS Attacks?"
Hey folks, quick question—how effective is ip blocking really against DDoS? I’ve seen mixed opinions.
On one hand, it *can* stop known bad IPs, but what if the attacker’s using a botnet with thousands of rotating IPs? Feels like whack-a-mole.
Also, some say it’s outdated, but others swear by it for stopping basic script kiddies.
What’s your experience? Does ip blocking still hold up, or is it just a band-aid?

I get that it stops obvious spammy IPs, but hackers are sneaky with proxies/VPNs. Feels like playing cat & mouse.
Plus, false positives suck. Block one bad actor, accidentally lock out legit users. Ugh.
Do you guys still rely on ip blocking, or is it more of a "just in case" thing now?
