Can someone explain the ddns meaning in simple terms? or What exactly is the ddns meaning and how doe

Wow, thanks for all the replies! Didn’t expect so much help.

I tried DuckDNS like a few of you suggested, and it worked like a charm. Still figuring out the router part, but the PC client is doing its job for now.

One follow-up: if my router supports DDNS, is it better to set it up there instead of on my PC? Just wanna make sure I’m not overcomplicating things.
