Newbie question: What exactly does 'configure' mean?
Hey guys, total noob here trying to figure stuff out. So, what is configure? I keep seeing this term everywhere—like when installing software or setting up devices—but I’m kinda lost.
From what I gather, configure basically means tweaking settings so something works the way *you* want. Like, adjusting options in an app or telling a program where to find files. But how does it *actually* work? Does it just change a text file somewhere, or is there more to it?
Also, why is configure so important? Can’t stuff just work out of the box? Lol.
Would love a simple explanation—maybe with an example? Thanks in advance!
(PS: Sorry if this is a dumb question, but google just gives me tech jargon and my brain glazes over.)
