Ugh, proxy setup struggles are the worst. Have you tried tweaking the timeout settings? Sometimes defaults are way too low.

Also, if you’re using Squid, check the cache_dir size. Too small and it’ll choke.

My go-to for balancing speed/security is HAProxy with TLS 1.3. Works like a charm.
