Proxy vs Reverse Proxy: What’s the diff and when to use each?
Hey folks! So I’ve been digging into this whole proxy vs reverse proxy thing, and tbh, it’s kinda confusing at first glance.
From what I get, a *proxy* sits between you and the internet (like a middleman for your requests), while a *reverse proxy* sits in front of servers (hiding them from direct access).
But like… when would you actually use one over the other? If I’m just trying to hide my IP, obv a normal proxy makes sense. But if I’m running a website and wanna balance load or add security, is a reverse proxy the move?
Kinda curious how y’all use them in real setups. Any gotchas or favorite tools?
