Same issue here. Reddit blocks vpn IPs so aggressively now. I’ve found that logging in *before* turning on the VPN helps sometimes.

Also, if you’re on iOS, try Lockdown Privacy app—it’s not a full VPN but blocks trackers and might help.

Still, super frustrating.
