Randomized IP addresses do help, but they're not a magic bullet. Yeah, they hide your real IP, but like you said, cookies and fingerprinting can still track you.
I use a combo of a randomized IP (via a VPN with rotating IPs) + Firefox with strict privacy settings + uBlock Origin. That covers most bases.
As for speed, yeah, some lag is normal since your traffic’s bouncing around. Try different VPN providers—some are faster than others.
