Is my proxy server slowing down my internet? How can I fix it? or Why is my proxy server not working

Hey! I had this exact issue. My proxy server was dragging my internet to a crawl because it was routing through some distant server.

I switched to a closer server location in the settings, and boom—way faster. Also, check if your proxy has a "speed mode" or similar. Some let you prioritize speed over security.

If nothing works, maybe your proxy just sucks. Time for an upgrade?
