Hey everyone! So I keep hearing about "data extraction" but tbh, I'm kinda lost. Like, what does data extraction mean in plain terms? Is it just copying data from one place to another?
From what I gather, it’s basically pulling out specific info from websites, docs, or databases—like grabbing product prices from an online store or contact details from a PDF. But how does it *actually* work? Is it manual or automated?
Also, where is this even used? I’ve heard stuff about research, business, even AI training... but idk if that’s accurate.
