Wow, thanks for all the replies! Seems like the consensus is that do proxy addresses speed up connection? Not really, unless my ISP’s messing up.

I’ll try a few paid ones like NordVPN and see if it helps with throttling.

Also, good point about location—maybe a closer server would make a diff.
