Can Someone Explain the Socks4 Proxy Meaning and How It Works?

Socks4 is a simple protocol that routes your traffic through a server, hiding your IP. It’s fast and works for basic tasks, but it’s not as secure or versatile as socks5.

No UDP, no DNS, and it’s not as flexible. If you’re just using it for casual browsing, it’s fine. But for anything more, socks5 is better.

I’d recommend using ProxyRack for testing proxies. They’ve got a good mix of socks4 and socks5 options.
