I tried flushing my DNS cache (shoutout to the person who suggested that), and it worked! No more proxy error for now.
I also checked DownDetector, and it looks like the site was having issues earlier, so it might’ve been a combo of things.
Gonna keep the VPN and proxy checker tools in mind for next time, though. Tech is such a pain sometimes, but at least this forum exists. 😅
