Hey! I’ve been down this rabbit hole before. Setting up a gmail proxy over thunderbird can be tricky, but it’s doable. One thing that helped me was disabling SSL for IMAP/SMTP temporarily while setting up the proxy. Once it’s working, you can re-enable it.
