"Proxy Switchy acting up for anyone else? Need help!"

Hey folks,

Is it just me or has proxy switchy been kinda buggy lately? Mine keeps dropping connections or just straight up not switching when it should.

Tried reinstalling, clearing cache, nada.

Anyone else dealing with this? Or found a fix?

Or:

"Best way to set up proxy switchy for smooth browsing?"

Yo,

Trying to get proxy switchy to work without constant hiccups.

Any pro tips for config? Like, best rules to avoid lag or timeouts?

Mine keeps choking on certain sites and it’s driving me nuts.

Share your setups pls!

"Proxy switchy not working right—fixes or alternatives?"

Ugh, proxy switchy’s been super unreliable for me this week.

Random disconnects, slow speeds... the works.

Anyone got a solid fix? Or should I just jump ship to another extension?

Lemme know what’s working for y’all.

Or:

"How good is proxy switchy for handling multiple proxies?"

Hey,

Thinking of using proxy switchy to juggle a few proxies for work.

But heard mixed things—does it actually handle multiple proxies well? Or is it gonna crap out on me?

Would love some real-user feedback before I commit.

Thanks!
Yeah, proxy switchy’s been acting weird for me too. Started happening after the last Chrome update.

Try disabling other extensions to see if there’s a conflict. Also, check if your proxy lists are up to date—sometimes stale proxies cause timeouts.

If nothing works, maybe give FoxyProxy a shot? Heard it’s more stable for some users.
Mine was doing the same thing! Turns out it was a DNS leak messing with the connections.

Switched to Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 DNS and it’s been way smoother. Also, make sure proxy switchy’s rules aren’t overlapping—that can cause random drops.
For smooth browsing, I’ve had better luck with proxy switchy when I whitelist heavy sites like YouTube instead of routing everything through it.

Also, tweak the timeout settings—default is too low. Bump it to 10s and see if that helps.
Honestly, gave up on proxy switchy last month. Switched to SmartProxy and it’s been flawless.

If you’re juggling multiple proxies, it’s worth checking out. Way less fiddly.
Thanks for all the tips, y’all!

Tried the DNS switch to 1.1.1.1 and it’s way better, but still getting drops on streaming sites.

Anyone else had luck with whitelisting those? Or is it just a proxy switchy limitation?

Also, gonna test SmartProxy later—sounds promising.
Try clearing your browser’s SSL state. Sounds weird, but proxy switchy sometimes freaks out if certs are cached wrong.

Chrome: chrome://net-internals/#hsts -> clear SSL state.

Worked for me after days of frustration.
For multiple proxies, proxy switchy *can* work but it’s finicky. I use it with 3 proxies daily, but had to set up strict rules.

Avoid auto-switching—manual mode is more reliable. Also, keep sessions short to prevent timeouts.
Had the same issue! Found out my ISP was throttling proxy traffic.

Switched to a VPN (Mullvad) + proxy switchy combo and it’s been solid. Maybe your ISP’s being sneaky too?
If you’re on Firefox, proxy switchy tends to bug out more. Try Proxy Helper instead—it’s lighter and handles switches better.

For Chrome, maybe a fresh profile? Sometimes settings get corrupted and reinstalling doesn’t fix it.
