"Anyone else having issues with Switchy Omega lately? Need help troubleshooting!"

Hey folks,

Is it just me or is Switchy Omega acting up recently? Been using it for years, but now it’s randomly dropping connections or just straight-up not switching proxies.

Tried reinstalling, clearing cache, nada.

Any tips? Or is this a known bug?

Also, if you’ve got a workaround, pls share!

"What’s the best way to configure Switchy Omega for multiple proxy setups?"

Yo,

Trying to set up Switchy Omega with like 5 different proxies for work stuff, but it’s a bit messy.

How do y’all organize yours? Separate profiles for each? Or just one big list?

Also, any shortcuts to switch faster? Feels clunky clicking through menus every time.

Thx in advance!

"Is Switchy Omega still the best proxy manager, or are there better alternatives now?"

Hey,

Switchy Omega’s been my go-to forever, but lately it feels... outdated?

Seen some new extensions pop up, but not sure if they’re worth switching.

Anyone tried alternatives that are actually better? Or should I just stick with what works?

"How do I get Switchy Omega to work smoothly with Chrome/Firefox?"

Ugh, Switchy Omega keeps lagging or not loading on my browser (Chrome rn, but same prob in Firefox).

Anyone got settings tweaks to make it run smoother?

Or is it just a lost cause at this point?

Help a frustrated user out 😅
Yeah, Switchy Omega's been acting weird for me too lately.

I found that disabling all other extensions helped a bit—maybe a conflict? Also, try switching to the legacy version if you're on Chrome.

For a temp fix, Proxy SwitchySharp works kinda similar but less fancy.
Dude, same! Mine just stops working mid-session.

Clearing cache didn’t help, but resetting the entire profile did. Go to settings > reset. Pain, but it worked.

If you’re on Firefox, maybe try FoxyProxy as a backup?
For multiple proxies, I separate them into profiles by use case (work, personal, etc.).

Naming them clearly helps—like "Work_Proxy1" instead of random stuff.

Also, keyboard shortcuts in Switchy Omega settings save time. Just assign keys!
Switchy Omega feels old, but I haven’t found anything better.

Tried SmartProxy and Proxy Helper, but they’re either too simple or buggy.

If you’re brave, maybe check out the beta versions? Some say they’re smoother.
Chrome’s been laggy with Switchy Omega for me too.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome settings. Weirdly, it helped.

If all else fails, Firefox + SwitchyOmega seems more stable lately.
Thanks for the tips, everyone!

Reset my profile like someone suggested, and it’s working... for now.

Still kinda slow though—anyone else notice lag after the reset? Might try Firefox next.
Not sure if it’s a bug, but mine crashes when too many proxies are active.

Maybe reduce the list or batch them?

Also, the dev’s GitHub has some open issues—might be worth checking if others report the same.
For faster switching, I use the quick menu (right-click the icon).

Way better than digging through settings.

Also, organizing proxies by region/country keeps things tidy.
If Switchy Omega’s being stubborn, try a fresh browser install.

Annoying, but it fixed my connection drops.

Otherwise, Windscribe’s extension is decent for basic proxy needs.
