"Too Many Requests – Anyone Else Feeling Overwhelmed?"
Seriously, is it just me or is everyone suddenly drowning in too many requests these days?
Like, my inbox is a warzone. Slack pings? Non-stop. Emails? Piling up. Random "quick favors"? Don’t even get me started.
How do y’all handle it without losing your mind? I’ve tried ignoring some, but then I feel guilty. Saying no? Harder than it sounds.
And why does it feel like *everyone* is sending too many requests at once? Is there some secret memo I missed?
Pls tell me I’m not alone in this. Any hacks? Or do we just suffer silently?
(Also, sorry for typos. Too many requests = too little sleep.)
Ugh, same here! Too many requests hitting me from all sides.
What helped me was setting up filters in Gmail to auto-sort low-priority stuff. Also, Trello for tracking tasks—game changer.
Still drowning, but at least it’s organized chaos now.
Not just you! The struggle is real.
I started blocking "focus hours" on my calendar where I ignore Slack/emails. Sounds simple, but it cuts down the noise.
Also, learn to say "let me get back to you" instead of yes/no right away. Buys you time to breathe.
Yep, drowning in too many requests here too.
My hack? Text Blaze for canned responses. Saves so much time replying to repetitive stuff.
And if it’s not urgent, I literally schedule sends for later. Out of sight, out of mind (kinda).
Bro, same. Inbox zero? A myth.
I started using RescueTime to see where my time actually goes. Spoiler: 80% of it was reacting, not doing.
Now I batch-check messages 3x a day. Not perfect, but way less overwhelming.
Oh man, the "quick favor" avalanche is brutal.
I started tagging requests as P1/P2/P3 in Asana. If it’s not P1, it waits. Harsh but necessary.
Also, Sanebox for email—it auto-hides non-urgent stuff. Lifesaver.
Too many requests = burnout fuel.
Two things that helped:
1) Clockwise to auto-block focus time.
2) A literal "stop asking" Slack status during deep work.
People actually respect it (shocking, I know).
Guilty of over-committing here too.
Now I use Spark Mail to snooze emails until I’m ready. And for Slack, I mute channels for a few hours.
Still a mess, but less panic.
Wow, didn’t expect so many replies—thanks y’all!
Tried the focus blocks and Text Blaze today already. Game. Changer.
But now I’m curious: how do you deal with the guilt of ignoring/snoozing stuff? Like, what if it *was* important?
The secret memo was sent to everyone except us, apparently.
I started time-blocking with Sunrise Calendar (RIP, but similar tools exist).
And I say "no" more often. Turns out, the world doesn’t end. Who knew?
