"Are anonymous proxies still reliable for staying hidden online?"

hey guys, been wondering about this for a while...

are anonymous proxies even worth it these days? like, i know they *used* to be a solid way to hide your IP, but with all the tracking tech now, do they still cut it?

i’ve heard some ppl say they’re outdated and easy to detect, while others swear by ‘em.

also, if they *do* work, which ones are actually safe? so many sketchy options out there lol.

anyone got real experience with anonymous proxies recently? or are VPNs just the better move now?

thx for any insights!
Anonymous proxies can still work, but they're hit or miss these days. A lot of sites and services have gotten better at detecting them, so you might get blocked or flagged.

If you're gonna use one, stick with trusted providers like HideMyAss or ProxySite. But honestly, VPNs are way more reliable for staying hidden.

Proxies are kinda like the old-school way—cheap but risky. VPNs encrypt everything, so they’re just safer overall.
imo anonymous proxies are pretty outdated unless you're just trying to bypass basic geo-blocks. Even then, most free ones are slow or packed with ads.

If you really need anonymity, check out Tor or a no-logs VPN like Mullvad. Proxies don’t hide your traffic, just your IP, so they’re not great for privacy.
Yeah, anonymous proxies are still a thing, but you gotta be careful. A lot of them log your data or are straight-up malware.

I’ve had luck with paid ones like Luminati, but they’re pricey. For free options, maybe try KProxy, but don’t expect miracles.

VPNs are just easier tho. Less hassle, better security.
Anonymous proxies? Meh. They’re like using a fake mustache—kinda works until someone looks too close.

Most big sites (Netflix, banks, etc.) can spot proxy traffic now. If you’re just messing around, fine, but for real privacy? Nah.

NordVPN or ProtonVPN are way better bets. Proxies feel like a relic from 2010 lol.
Honestly, it depends what you're using them for. Anonymous proxies can still help with simple stuff like scraping or accessing region-locked content, but they’re not foolproof.

If you’re serious about hiding, combine a proxy with a VPN or Tor. But solo? They’re weak sauce now.
Anonymous proxies are risky af these days. Half of them are either scams or monitored by someone shady.

If you’re gonna use one, at least test it with a site like WhatIsMyIPAddress first to see if it’s leaking. But yeah, VPNs are just the smarter move now.

Thanks for all the replies, guys! Super helpful.

Sounds like anonymous proxies are kinda past their prime, and VPNs are the way to go. Gonna check out Mullvad and ProtonVPN since a few of you recommended them.

One last Q—anyone know if VPNs work better with certain browsers? Or does it not matter?

Appreciate the insights!
