Been thinking a lot about the data ecosystem lately—how it’s *supposed* to make everything smoother, but man, it feels like there’s always *something* in the way.
First off, silos. Why do teams still hoard data like it’s gold? Makes the whole ecosystem feel fragmented.
Then there’s quality. Garbage in, garbage out, right? If the data’s messy, good luck getting anything useful.
And don’t even get me started on governance. Who owns what? Who’s allowed to use it? Feels like half the time we’re stuck in meetings *about* data instead of actually using it.
Lastly, scaling. Everyone wants a “seamless” data ecosystem, but when you grow, everything just… breaks.

Oh man, silos are the WORST. My team spent months trying to get access to marketing data because "it's sensitive." Like, how are we supposed to optimize campaigns if we can't see the full picture?
A tool that helped us break down silos is Airbyte—open-source, easy to set up, and connects everything. Also, DataHub for metadata management. Makes it clearer who owns what.
But yeah, governance is another beast. Feels like we’re building the plane while flying it.
