"Need Help: How to Ban Someone on Discord Properly?"

hey guys, so i’m kinda new to moderating my server and there’s this one person causing trouble. i need to know *how to ban someone on discord* the right way.

do i just right-click their name and hit ban? or is there more to it? like, do i need to give a reason or can i just yeet them lol?

also, what’s the diff between kick and ban? i don’t wanna accidentally let them back in.

any step-by-step help would be awesome, or if there’s a bot that makes it easier. thanks!

(ps. mobile vs desktop steps would be cool too if they’re different)
Hey! So, banning someone on discord is pretty straightforward, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

Right-click their name > Ban is the basic way, but you *should* give a reason (it helps other mods know why they were banned).

Kick vs ban: Kick just removes them, but they can rejoin if they have an invite. Ban blocks them completely unless you unban them.

For mobile, tap their name > three dots > Ban. Same idea!

If you want extra control, try bots like Dyno or MEE6—they can auto-ban for rules breaks and log reasons.

Hope that helps!
lol "yeet them" is a mood, but yeah, you can just right-click and ban.

But if you wanna do it *properly*, here’s the deal:
- Always give a reason (even if it’s just "spam" or "being toxic").
- Ban is permanent unless you unban. Kick is temporary.

Mobile steps: tap their name > ban (same as desktop but harder to missclick).

Pro tip: screenshot their nonsense before banning in case they try to deny it later.
If you’re learning how to ban someone on discord, you might wanna check out Discord’s official mod guide (google it).

Ban = gone forever (unless you undo it). Kick = "get out rn but you can come back."

Bots like Carl-bot or Hydra can help automate bans for repeat offenders.

Also, *always* document why you banned someone. Servers get messy without logs.

Mobile banning works the same, just tap instead of click.
Banning is easy, but doing it *right* takes a sec.

1. Right-click name > Ban.
2. Add a reason (optional but smart).
3. Confirm.

Kick is like a timeout—ban is the full boot.

For mobile, press their name > ban. No big diff.

Bots? Dyno’s great for auto-modding.

Also, maybe warn them first unless they’re *really* bad. Just my 2 cents.
Quick answer: yes, right-click > ban works.

But if you wanna be thorough:
- Check server logs (if you have a bot).
- Give a reason (keeps things clean).
- Ban > kick if you never wanna see them again.

Mobile: tap profile > ban. Easy.

Bots like MEE6 can auto-ban for certain words/actions. Super handy for big servers.
Honestly, just right-click and ban if they’re being awful. But if you’re new to modding, here’s the smarter way:

- Warn first (unless it’s something instant-ban worthy).
- Ban with a reason (helps later).
- Kick is temp, ban is perma.

Mobile steps are the same—just tap instead of click.

Bots? Try AutoMod or Wick for extra safety.

yo thanks everyone!! this helped a ton. i didn’t realize kicks were temporary—def gonna use bans instead for the real troublemakers.

also, i checked out dyno like some of you said, and it’s way easier than doing it manually.

one last q: if i ban someone, can they still see the server in their list or is it totally gone for them? just curious.
