"Can a Fake IP Address Keep You Anonymous Online?"
Hey guys, so i’ve been reading up on using a fake ip adress to stay anonymous. But like, does it *actually* work?
I know VPNs and proxies are a thing, but some sites still detect em. And if u mess up, u could get banned or worse.
Anyone got real experience with this? Like, does a fake ip adress *really* hide u, or is it just a temporary fix?
Also, what’s the best way to do it without getting flagged? Tor? Residential proxies? Or just stick to VPNs?
Kinda paranoid about privacy these days lol. Thx for any tips!

*PS - If u know any good tools, drop em below!*
Using a fake ip adress can help, but it’s not foolproof. VPNs are decent, but like u said, some sites detect em. Tor is better for anonymity, but it’s slow af.
If u wanna go deeper, try residential proxies—they’re harder to flag since they use real IPs from ISPs. Check out Luminati or Smartproxy.
But honestly, nothing’s 100%. If u mess up your setup, u can still get exposed.
lol i tried this last year. Fake ip adress stuff is tricky. VPNs work for Netflix and stuff, but for real anonymity? Nah.
Tor + a good VPN combo is better. Also, disable WebRTC in your browser—it leaks your real IP sometimes.
Pro tip: don’t log into personal accounts while using a fake ip. That’s how most ppl get caught.
A fake ip adress is just one piece of the puzzle. U need more layers—like browser fingerprinting protection.
Tools like Mullvad VPN + Tor Browser + Privacy Badger help. But if u’re super paranoid, tails OS is the way to go.
Sites like privacytools.io list good options.
I’ve been using residential proxies for scraping, and they’re solid for avoiding bans. But for full anonymity? Eh.
A fake ip adress alone won’t cut it. U need to mask other stuff too—DNS leaks, cookies, etc.
Check out Whonix if u want hardcore privacy.
Bro, just use Tor. A fake ip adress via VPNs or proxies is fine for casual stuff, but Tor’s built for this.
Downside? Slow speeds and some sites block it. But if u wanna stay hidden, it’s worth it.
Also, avoid signing into anything personal.
Fake ip adress tools are hit or miss. Free proxies? Sketchy. Paid VPNs? Better, but not perfect.
I’d recommend ProtonVPN + Firefox with strict privacy settings. And always check for leaks with ipleak.net.
Stay safe out there.
If u’re asking about a fake ip adress, u gotta know the risks. Some proxies log your data, and VPNs can be shady too.
My setup: NordVPN (no logs) + Brave Browser in private mode. Works for most things.
But remember, nothing’s bulletproof.
Tor is king for anonymity, but it’s not user-friendly. A fake ip adress via VPN is easier but less secure.
For tools, try Windscribe (free plan) or OxyLabs proxies if u need reliability.
Just don’t expect magic—privacy takes effort.
Yo, thanks for all the replies! Didn’t expect so many tips.
Gonna try Tor + Mullvad first since a few of u recommended it. Also, had no idea about WebRTC leaks—def fixing that.
One more Q: anyone know if cloudflare blocks fake ip adress stuff? Seen mixed things.
Appreciate the help!
