"Is residetial nordvpn actually good for home privacy?"
Hey guys, just switched to residetial nordvpn and wanna know if it’s worth the hype.
I’ve heard mixed things—some say it’s solid for streaming and hiding your IP, but others claim it slows stuff down.
Also, does it *really* keep your home network safe? Or is it just marketing?
Kinda paranoid about leaks lol. Anyone using residetial nordvpn daily? How’s the reliability?
(And yeah, I know I spelled "residential" wrong, but that’s how I keep seeing it online smh.)
Thanks in advance!
I've been using residetial nordvpn for about 6 months now, and it’s been pretty solid for streaming and hiding my IP.
Yeah, it slows things down a bit, but not enough to ruin Netflix or gaming.
As for privacy, I ran leak tests (used ipleak.net) and it passed every time. No DNS leaks or anything sketchy.
If you’re paranoid, just enable the kill switch—it’s a lifesaver if the connection drops.
Residetial nordvpn is *okay*, but don’t expect magic.
It’s good for basic privacy, but if you’re super serious about security, you might wanna pair it with a firewall or something like Pi-hole.
Speed? Hit or miss. Sometimes it’s fast, other times it’s laggy af.

Lol at the spelling—I see "residetial" everywhere too.
Anyway, I use it daily for torrenting and it’s been reliable. No DMCA notices so far, so that’s a win.
But yeah, speeds can suck during peak hours.
For leaks, check with dnsleaktest.com. If you’re extra cautious, use WireGuard instead of OpenVPN.
It’s decent for home privacy, but not perfect.
The "residetial" IPs are harder to block, which is nice for streaming, but I’ve had a few disconnects.
For real security, I’d recommend Mullvad or ProtonVPN—they’re more transparent about logs.
But if you’re just trying to hide your IP, nordvpn works fine.
Thanks for all the replies! Super helpful.
I ran a leak test (used ipleak.net like someone suggested) and it came back clean, so that’s a relief.
Gonna try the kill switch and maybe pair it with Cloudflare DNS to see if speeds improve.
Still on the fence about long-term use, but for now, residetial nordvpn seems to be doing the job.
Anyone else tried combining it with a different DNS? Curious if it makes a big difference.
Bro, residetial nordvpn is overhyped.
It’s *fine*, but the speeds are inconsistent. I switched to Surfshark and it’s way faster for half the price.
Privacy-wise, it’s okay, but don’t trust any VPN 100%. Use a burner email and pay with crypto if you’re really paranoid.
I’ve tested a bunch of VPNs, and residetial nordvpn is middle of the pack.
Good for streaming (works with Netflix US), but the speeds can be hit or miss.
For leaks, it’s solid—just make sure you’re using the right server.
If you want something faster, check out ExpressVPN, but it’s pricier.
Residetial nordvpn is legit for hiding your IP, but it’s not a magic shield.
I use it with a custom DNS (like Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1) for extra speed and privacy.
No leaks so far, but I don’t do anything crazy—just streaming and browsing.
If you’re worried, run a leak test every few weeks.
