"Does a fake IP generator actually work for privacy? Need real experiences!"
Hey guys, so I’ve been reading about fake IP generators and how they’re supposed to hide your real IP. But like… do they *actually* work?
I’ve seen mixed reviews—some say it’s great for privacy, others claim it’s sketchy or even gets you banned.
Anyone here used one long-term? Did it keep your stuff private, or did websites still figure it out?
Also, any recommendations for a *reliable* fake IP generator? Free or paid, idc, just wanna know what’s legit.
Thanks in advance! 🙏
(Ps. pls don’t suggest VPNs, I’m specifically curious about fake IP generators rn.)
I’ve tried a few fake IP generators, and honestly, most are hit or miss. Some websites detect them instantly, especially big ones like Netflix or banking sites.
But for basic stuff like browsing forums or avoiding geo-blocks, they *can* work. I used "IPFakeGen" (not sure if it’s still around) and it was okay for a while until my IP got blacklisted.
If you’re serious about privacy, you might wanna look into proxy chains instead. Just my two cents!
Fake IP generators? Yeah, they *technically* work, but don’t expect miracles.
I used one called "GhostIP" for a month, and while it masked my IP, some sites flagged it as suspicious. Got captchas *everywhere*.
Free ones are usually trash—slow and leaky. If you’re gonna go this route, maybe try "HideMyIP" (paid). Still, VPNs are way better imo, but you said no VPNs so… yeah.
lol fake IP generators are like putting a fake mustache on your internet traffic.
Some sites won’t care, others will sniff you out fast. I tried "StealthIP" and it was *alright* for casual browsing, but don’t trust it for anything sensitive.
Also, free ones? Nah. They’re either malware or sell your data. Stick to paid tools if you’re gonna bother.
I’ve been using "MaskGen" for a few months now, and it’s decent. Not perfect, but it rotates IPs well enough that I haven’t been banned anywhere.
Biggest issue? Speed. Fake IP generators slow things down a ton. If you’re just trying to hide your IP for low-stakes stuff, it’s fine. For anything serious, though… eh.
Fake IP generators *can* work, but it’s a cat-and-mouse game. Sites update their detection, and the generator has to keep up.
I’d recommend "CloakIP" if you’re set on this route. It’s paid, but updates regularly to avoid bans. Still, don’t expect 100% anonymity—nothing beats a good VPN.
Used one for a week and gave up. Every other site blocked me or asked for verification.
If you’re *just* trying to hide your IP from basic tracking, sure, a fake IP generator might help. But for real privacy? Nah.
"AnonIP" was the least bad one I tried, but even that was meh.
Thanks for all the replies, guys! Super helpful.
Sounds like fake IP generators are kinda sketchy for long-term use, but maybe okay for quick stuff. Gonna try "MaskGen" and "CloakIP" since a few of you mentioned them.
Quick Q tho—anyone know if these work with torrenting? Or is that a guaranteed ban?
(And yeah, I know VPNs are better, but I’m just experimenting rn.)
Honestly, fake IP generators are overhyped. They’re okay for temporary stuff, but long-term? Not reliable.
I tried "PrivacyIP" and it worked… until it didn’t. Woke up one day to a bunch of blocked accounts.
If you’re gonna use one, at least pair it with other privacy tools. Alone, it’s kinda useless.
