"Looking for a Reliable HTTPS Proxy—Any Recommendations?"

Hey folks! 👋 Been digging around for a solid https proxy to keep my browsing secure, but there’s *so* many options out there. Some seem sketchy, others are crazy slow.

Anyone got a go-to https proxy they trust? Free or paid, doesn’t matter—just need something that won’t leak my data or throttle my connection to a crawl.

Bonus points if it works well with streaming sites (you know why 😉).

Also, side question: do you guys prefer browser extensions or standalone apps for this stuff?

Thanks in advance! 🙏
I've been using Luminati for a while now, and it’s been solid for https proxy needs. It’s paid, but the speeds are great, and it doesn’t leak data. Works with streaming sites too, though YMMV depending on the server location.

For browser extensions, I’d recommend Proxy SwitchyOmega—it’s super flexible and lets you switch between proxies easily.

Only downside? Luminati’s pricing can be steep if you’re just testing things out.
If you’re looking for free, Hide.me has a decent https proxy option. It’s not the fastest, but it’s reliable for basic browsing.

For paid, Smartproxy is my go-to. Cheap-ish and good speeds, plus it rotates IPs automatically.

Browser extensions are hit or miss—I prefer standalone apps like Proxifier for more control.
Yo, NordVPN’s built-in proxy servers are lowkey awesome. Not *technically* a standalone https proxy, but it encrypts traffic and works with streaming sites. Plus, no leaks.

Extensions are convenient, but I’ve had issues with them crashing. Standalone apps feel more stable.
Oxylabs is pricey but worth it if you need a high-quality https proxy. Blazing fast, zero leaks, and they’ve got residential IPs that work with Netflix etc.

For free, try KProxy—basic but gets the job done.

Side note: Avoid browser extensions unless you *really* trust the dev. Too many sketchy ones out there.
I swear by Storm Proxies for https proxy needs. Cheap, fast, and they’ve got a ton of locations. Works great for streaming too.

Extensions are meh—I use FoxyProxy sometimes, but standalone apps are way better for security.
Wow, thanks for all the recs, everyone! 🙌 I ended up testing Smartproxy and NordVPN’s proxy servers—both worked great so far.

Quick follow-up: Anyone know if these work with *region-locked* streaming sites? Like, does Oxylabs or GeoSurf bypass geo-blocks better?

Also, appreciate the warnings about sketchy extensions. Definitely sticking to standalone apps now.

Thanks again! 🚀
Bright Data (formerly Luminati) is top-tier for https proxy stuff, but it’s $$$. If you’re just browsing, VPNBook has free proxies, but speeds are hit or miss.

For extensions, Hola VPN is popular, but I’ve heard mixed things about privacy.
Try GeoSurf if you need a reliable https proxy for streaming. They’ve got dedicated IPs, so no throttling.

Browser extensions? Nah, too risky. I use Charles Proxy for debugging, but it’s overkill for casual use.
SmartDNS Proxy is underrated for streaming—works like a charm with Netflix and Hulu. Not a traditional https proxy, but it’s fast and secure.

For actual proxies, Blazing SEO is solid.

Extensions are convenient but often slow. Standalone apps FTW.
