"Anyone else tried youtube to proxy to unblock vids? Does it even work?"
So I keep hearing about this youtube to proxy thing for bypassing geo-blocks, but idk if it’s legit.
Tried a couple free ones, and half the time the buffering is unbearable. Other times, the video just won’t load at all.
Is it just me or are these services hit or miss?
Also, sketchy ads everywhere—feels like my laptop’s gonna catch a virus lol.
Anyone got a *reliable* youtube to proxy method that doesn’t suck? Or is a VPN just better at this point?
(And pls don’t recommend some shady site, I’d like to keep my data intact tyvm)
Yeah, I've messed around with youtube to proxy sites before, and honestly, most free ones are garbage. The buffering is insane, and like you said, the ads are sketchy af.
If you're just trying to unblock a few vids, maybe try a VPN with a free trial? NordVPN and ProtonVPN have decent speeds.
Otherwise, for a proxy, I’ve had *some* luck with CroxyProxy—it’s not perfect, but it’s less laggy than others. Still, VPNs are way more reliable for geo-unblocking.
lol same here. Tried like 3 different youtube proxy sites last week and they all either timed out or gave me malware warnings.
At this point, I just use Windscribe VPN (free version gives 10GB/month). Works way better than any proxy for unblocking YT vids.
If you’re dead set on a proxy, maybe check out Hide.me? Heard it’s slightly better, but no guarantees.
Proxies for youtube are hit or miss, mostly miss. Free ones are slow, and the good ones usually cost money.
I’d recommend just using a VPN. ExpressVPN is pricey but super fast for streaming. If you want a free option, TurboVPN isn’t terrible.
Btw, some youtube to proxy sites inject ads mid-video, which is super annoying. VPNs don’t do that.

Gonna try Windscribe’s free VPN first since a few of you mentioned it. If that doesn’t cut it, might just bite the bullet and get Surfshark.
