"Looking for a good data scraper extension—any recommendations?"
Hey y'all!
So I've been trying to find a solid data scraper extension that actually works without breaking after every dang website update. Tried a few, but they either miss half the data or just stop working after a week.
Anyone got a go-to one that’s reliable? Free would be awesome, but I’m cool with paid if it’s worth it.
Also, does anyone know if there’s a data scraper extension that doesn’t get flagged by sites? Some of ‘em get blocked so fast lol.
Thanks in advance! 🙏
I've been using Web Scraper (the chrome extension) for a while now and it's been pretty solid. It's free and lets you scrape data by pointing and clicking—no coding needed.
Only downside is some sites block it, but you can tweak the delay settings to make it less obvious. Not perfect, but gets the job done for most stuff.
Try Octoparse! It’s not just an extension but a full tool with a free tier. Works great for scraping tables, lists, etc.
Paid version is faster, but free one’s decent if you’re patient. Also, it’s less likely to get blocked since it mimics human browsing.
Honestly, most data scraper extensions get flagged eventually. If you want something stealthy, check out Instant Data Scraper.
Super simple, just highlight what you want and it pulls it. Not as powerful as others, but it flies under the radar.
I’ve had luck with ParseHub for complex scraping. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get it, it’s a beast.
Free for small projects, but yeah, paid if you need heavy lifting. Sites don’t block it as much since it runs locally.
Scraper (yes, that’s the name lol) is a basic but reliable chrome extension. Free, lightweight, and good for quick jobs.
Won’t handle super dynamic sites, but for static pages? Gold.
If you’re okay with paid, Diffbot is insane. Uses AI to scrape and even understands page layouts.
Pricey tho, so only worth it if you’re doing this professionally.
Pro tip: Pair any data scraper extension with a proxy or VPN. Reduces blocking by a ton.
I use DataMiner with a rotating proxy—works like a charm.
Anyone tried ScrapingBee’s extension? Heard it’s good for avoiding blocks but haven’t tested it myself.
Kinda curious if it’s worth the hype.
Yo, thanks for all the suggestions! Gonna test out Web Scraper and Octoparse first since they’re free.
Quick Q tho—anyone know if these work on sites with infinite scroll? That’s where most of my issues pop up.
