Can Someone Explain How to Find the Craigslist Ad Number for a Specific Listing?

Hey y’all,
So I’m trying to find the Craigslist ad number for a specific listing, but I’m kinda stuck. Like, where is it even located? I’ve been clicking around but no luck.

Is it in the URL or somewhere in the ad itself? I’ve seen ppl mention it, but I can’t figure it out.

Also, does the Craigslist ad number change if the listing gets reposted? Or is it always the same?

Any help would be awesome, thx!

(Also, sorry if this is a dumb question lol, I’m new to this whole Craigslist thing.)
The Craigslist ad number is usually in the URL of the listing. Just look at the end of the link, and you’ll see something like “1234567890.html.” That number is the ad number!

If the listing gets reposted, it’ll have a new Craigslist ad number because it’s technically a new post. So yeah, it changes.

Hope that helps!
Yo, I feel you! Took me forever to figure this out too. The Craigslist ad number is def in the URL. It’s the long number at the end, right before the “.html.”

And nah, if they repost, it’s a whole new number. So keep that in mind if you’re tracking something.

Btw, if you’re on mobile, just copy the link and paste it somewhere to see the full URL. Makes it easier to spot the Craigslist ad number.
Hey! The Craigslist ad number is in the URL, like others said. But if you’re still stuck, try using a tool like “Craigslist Helper” or “Craigslist Reader” (just google them). They can pull up the ad number and other details super quick.

Also, reposting = new number. So if you’re watching an item, make sure to save the current Craigslist ad number before it’s gone.
The Craigslist ad number is def in the URL, but sometimes it’s hard to spot if you’re not used to it. Look for the long string of numbers right before the “.html” at the end of the link.

And yeah, reposting changes the number. So if you’re trying to keep track of something, screenshot the ad or save the link.

Pro tip: Use a browser extension like “Craigslist Preview” to make it easier to find the Craigslist ad number and other details.
The Craigslist ad number is in the URL, but if you’re still confused, try this:

1. Open the ad.
2. Copy the URL from the address bar.
3. Paste it into a note or something.
4. Look for the long number before “.html.” That’s your Craigslist ad number!

And yeah, reposting = new number. So if you’re trying to track something, keep an eye on it before it’s gone.
Hey! The Craigslist ad number is in the URL, but if you’re on mobile, it might not show the full link. Try opening the ad in a browser instead of the app.

Also, reposting changes the number, so if you’re watching something, save the link or take a screenshot.

Btw, there are some third-party tools like “Craigslist Finder” that can help you track ads and find the Craigslist ad number easily. Worth checking out!

Oh wow, thanks y’all! I finally found the Craigslist ad number in the URL like you said. I was totally overcomplicating it lol.

Quick follow-up tho—if I save the link, will it still work if the ad gets deleted? Or does it just go dead?

Also, I’ll def check out those tools like Craigslist Helper. Sounds super useful for tracking stuff. Thanks again!
