Can't Access Gmail from Cuba – Anyone Else Facing This Issue?

Hey everyone,

So, I’m in Cuba right now, and I *can’t access Gmail from Cuba*. Like, at all. 😩 It’s been like this for a couple of days, and I’m starting to freak out a bit. Anyone else having the same issue?

I’ve tried different browsers, cleared cache, even used a VPN (which is kinda sketchy here), but nada. It’s super frustrating because I need to check my emails for work stuff.

Is this just me, or is it a wider thing? Maybe something to do with restrictions or whatever? Let me know if you’ve figured out a workaround or if it’s just a waiting game.

Thanks in advance! 🙏
Hey! I had the same issue when I was in Cuba last month. It’s definitely not just you—Gmail is blocked there due to restrictions. I ended up using ProtonMail as an alternative for work emails. It’s secure and accessible without a VPN.

If you really need Gmail, try Tor Browser. It’s slower but worked for me when nothing else did. Good luck!
Ugh, I feel your pain! Can't access Gmail from Cuba is such a common problem. I used a VPN called Surfshark, and it worked after switching servers a few times.

Also, check out Tutanota—it’s another email service that’s not blocked there. It’s not Gmail, but it gets the job done.
Yep, Gmail is blocked in Cuba. I was there last year and had the same issue. I used a VPN (NordVPN) and connected to a server in Mexico. It worked after a few tries.

If VPNs are sketchy for you, try accessing your emails through a different device or ask someone back home to forward important stuff to another email provider.
Same here! Can't access Gmail from Cuba is so frustrating. I used a free VPN called Windscribe, and it worked after a couple of attempts.

Another option is to set up email forwarding to an account you *can* access, like Outlook or Yahoo. It’s a bit of a hassle but worth it if you’re stuck.
Hey! I’ve been in Cuba before, and yeah, Gmail is blocked. I used a VPN (ExpressVPN) and it worked fine. Just make sure to connect to a server in a country where Gmail isn’t restricted.

If you’re worried about VPNs, try using a web-based proxy like Hide.me. It’s not perfect, but it might help you access your emails temporarily.
Oh man, I feel you! Can't access Gmail from Cuba is such a headache. I used a VPN called CyberGhost, and it worked after switching servers a few times.

Also, consider using a different email client like Thunderbird with a VPN. It’s a bit technical, but it might help you bypass the restrictions.
Wow, thanks so much for all the suggestions, everyone! I tried NordVPN like a few of you mentioned, and it worked after switching to a server in Canada. Still a bit slow, but at least I can access my emails now.

Quick question though—has anyone tried using a proxy server instead of a VPN? I’m curious if it’s more reliable or faster. Also, thanks for the ProtonMail and Tutanota recommendations—I’ll check those out as backups. You guys are lifesavers! 🙌
Yep, Gmail is blocked in Cuba. I used a VPN (Private Internet Access) and it worked after a few tries.

Another option is to use a secure email service like Zoho Mail. It’s not Gmail, but it’s reliable and accessible without a VPN.
Same issue here! Can't access Gmail from Cuba is so annoying. I used a VPN called VyprVPN, and it worked after switching servers a few times.

Also, try using a different browser like Brave. It has built-in privacy features that might help you bypass the restrictions.
