Hey guys,

Is anyone else having trouble with the Facebook iPhone app not recognizing their account? I keep trying to log in, but it’s like it doesn’t even know me lol.

I’ve tried restarting my phone, reinstalling the app, even typing my password super slow in case I was messing up. No luck.

Is this a bug or just me? If you’ve fixed it, pls share how!

I fixed it by going to Settings > Facebook and toggling off "Background App Refresh." Then I restarted my phone and turned it back on.

Weirdly, that worked for me. Maybe give it a shot?

Also, check downdetector.com to see if it’s a widespread issue.

Yo, had the same prob last week. Facebook iPhone app not recognizing account outta nowhere.

Turns out it was a weird cache glitch. Go to iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Facebook > Offload App.

Then reinstall. Fixed it for me.

If that doesn’t work, maybe try logging in via Safari first?

But I DID check Downdetector, and seems like a bunch of people are having the same issue today. Maybe it’s on FB’s end?

Okay, weird fix but hear me out.

Facebook iPhone app not recognizing account for me until I deleted and reinstalled it WHILE my VPN was off.

Apparently, FB gets fussy with VPNs sometimes. If you use one, try disabling it before logging in.

Same issue! Facebook iPhone app not recognizing account like it forgot me overnight.

I fixed it by resetting my phone’s network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings).

Annoying to reconnect to Wi-Fi after, but it worked!

I had to update my iOS—turns out I was way behind. After that, the app finally let me in.
