Proxy error with network – anyone else dealing with this??

So I keep getting this annoying *proxy error with network* message outta nowhere. Everything was fine yesterday, but now my connection’s acting up.

Tried restarting router, switching browsers, even my phone’s wifi is throwing the same error. Is it just me or are others seeing this too?

Hey! Had the same proxy error with network issue last week. Turns out my ISP was doing some sneaky updates.

Try flushing your DNS—open cmd and type *ipconfig /flushdns*. Also, check if your ISP’s status page shows outages. Mine was down for like 2 hrs lol.

If it’s not that, maybe a malware scan? Malwarebytes free version caught some weird proxy hijacker on my PC once.

Ugh, proxy errors are the worst. Happened to me when my antivirus (McAfee) randomly enabled its "web protection" proxy.

Check your security software settings—sometimes they override network configs without telling you. Disabling it fixed my proxy error with network instantly.

Also, try *netsh winsock reset* in cmd. Sounds fancy but it’s just a network reset.

If you’re on Win10/11, go to Settings > Update History > Uninstall updates. Might help if it’s a recent thing.

Bro, had this exact proxy error with network crap. For me, it was a corrupted hosts file.

Open Notepad as admin, go to *C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts*, and delete any sketchy lines (keep the localhost stuff). Saved me hours of rage.

Also, check if your router’s firmware is outdated. Log in to 192.168.1.1 and update that bad boy.

Weirdly, my proxy error with network vanished after I disabled IPv6.

Go to Network Settings > Adapter Options > right-click your connection > Properties > uncheck *Internet Protocol Version 6*.

No idea why it works, but it did for me and a few others on Reddit. Worth a shot!

Try this:
1. Press Win + R, type *inetcpl.cpl*
2. Go to Connections > LAN settings
3. Uncheck "Use a proxy server" if it’s ticked.

Had this issue on macOS—turned out my time/date was out of sync.

Go to System Preferences > Date & Time > toggle auto-set. Sounds dumb, but SSL freaks out if the clock’s wrong.

For Windows, same idea: sync your clock manually. Might kill that proxy error with network ghost.
