"YouTube Proxy Error – Anyone Else Dealing With This??"

Ugh, so I keep getting this youtube proxy error outta nowhere! Was watching vids just fine yesterday, now every other video gives me that stupid "proxy error" message.

Tried clearing cache, restarting router, even switched browsers... no luck.

Anyone else facing this? Or found a fix that actually works?

It's driving me nuts cuz none of the usual "solutions" are doing squat.

"YouTube Proxy Error – Why’s It Suddenly Happening?"

Yo, did YouTube break or is it just me? Started getting the youtube proxy error today for no reason.

Checked my extensions, disabled VPN (wasn’t even using one lol), still nada.

Seen a few threads but all the fixes are like "just refresh" – yeah, thanks, genius.

If anyone’s got a *real* workaround, pls share. This is annoying af.

*Need it tweaked? Lmk!*
Same issue here! Started getting the youtube proxy error yesterday outta nowhere.

Tried everything – cleared cookies, switched DNS to Google's (8.8.8.8), even flushed my IP.

Weirdly, it works on mobile data but not WiFi. Maybe an ISP thing?

If you're still stuck, try using a free proxy like hide.me or Windscribe just to test. Not a permanent fix but might help narrow it down.
ugh yeah the youtube proxy error is such a pain.

My fix? Disabling IPv6 in my router settings. Sounds random but worked for me after hours of frustration.

Also, check if your firewall’s blocking something. Sometimes Windows Defender goes rogue lol.
Yo, had the same youtube proxy error last week!

Turned out my ISP was throttling YouTube (scummy, I know).

Used Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 WARP app and boom – fixed. It’s free and doesn’t slow things down. Worth a shot!
Weirdly, I only get the youtube proxy error on Chrome.

Switched to Firefox and it’s fine?? No idea why but maybe browser-specific.

Also, check your hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) for any sketchy entries. Malware sometimes messes with it.
This might sound dumb but… restart your modem *and* leave it unplugged for like 5 mins.

Had the youtube proxy error for days until I did that. Something about the ISP lease renewing properly.

If that fails, try a different device to see if it’s system-specific.
OP here.

Wow, didn’t expect so many replies – thanks y’all!

Tried the Cloudflare WARP thing and it kinda worked? Still glitchy but better.

Weirdly, my phone’s fine on the same WiFi. Might just wait it out unless it’s still busted tomorrow.

Also, anyone else’s error show a weird "ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED" message? That’s new.
Bro, same! youtube proxy error driving me nuts.

Found a thread saying it’s linked to adblockers. Disabled uBlock Origin and it worked… but ads suck.

Temp fix: try YouTube’s "lite" site (youtube.com/live) – less glitchy for some reason.
ISP issue 100%.

Got the youtube proxy error last month and my provider admitted they were "optimizing routes" (whatever that means).

Used a VPN (ProtonVPN’s free tier) and it bypassed the block. Annoying but effective.
Check your time/date settings!

Had the youtube proxy error because my PC clock was off by like 10 mins.

SSL certs freak out if time’s wrong. Sounds dumb but fixed it instantly for me.
