Hey! I was at Tsubame Onsen last week and stayed at Ryokan Yamayoshi. It’s super cozy and not too crowded, which sounds like what you’re looking for.

For food, there’s a small ramen spot called Menya Shichisai. It’s not fancy, but the broth is next-level.

Also, I found some recent tsubame onsen reddit threads by sorting by “new” on Reddit. Might help you find more up-to-date info!
Tsubame Onsen is amazing! I stayed at Ryokan Kikunoya, and it was worth every yen. The baths are serene, and the staff is super friendly.

For food, don’t miss the local izakayas. There’s one called Tsubameya that does killer yakitori.

If you’re looking for quieter baths, try the ones a bit further from the main area. They’re less touristy and more relaxing.
