Having Trouble with Proxy Settings in Mozilla? Any Tips or Solutions?

22 Replies, 2001 Views

Hey everyone,

So, I’ve been having some issues with my proxy settings in Mozilla lately. Like, no matter what I do, it just won’t connect properly. I’ve tried tweaking the proxy settings Mozilla has in the network settings, but it’s still acting up.

Anyone else run into this? I’m not super techy, so maybe I’m missing something obvious. I’ve already checked the manual proxy config and tried switching between system settings and manual, but nada.

Also, does Mozilla even save proxy settings properly? Cuz sometimes it feels like it just forgets what I put in there lol.

Any tips or solutions would be awesome! Thanks in advance, y’all.

P.S. If it helps, I’m on Windows 10 and using the latest Firefox version. Cheers!
Hey! I had the same issue with proxy settings Mozilla a while back. Turns out, my antivirus was blocking the connection. Maybe check if your antivirus or firewall is interfering? Also, try clearing your browser cache—sometimes that helps.

If you’re still stuck, you could use a tool like FoxyProxy. It’s a Firefox extension that makes managing proxy settings Mozilla way easier. Worth a shot!
Yo, I feel you. Proxy settings in Mozilla can be a pain. Have you tried resetting Firefox to default settings? Sometimes custom configs mess things up.

Also, make sure your proxy server is actually working. You can test it using a site like proxycheck.io. If the server’s down, no amount of tweaking will help lol.
Hey there! I’ve been using Firefox for years, and yeah, proxy settings Mozilla can be finicky. One thing that worked for me was disabling IPv6 in the network settings.

Go to about:config, search for “network.dns.disableIPv6,” and set it to true. Sounds random, but it fixed my connection issues. Hope it helps!
Dude, same problem here. I switched to using a VPN instead of messing with proxy settings Mozilla. NordVPN works great for me, and it’s way less hassle.

If you’re set on using a proxy, maybe try reinstalling Firefox? Sometimes the settings get corrupted, and a fresh install can fix it.
Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the suggestions! I tried resetting Firefox to default settings, and it actually worked! I think something was messed up in the config.

I also disabled IPv6 like someone suggested, and that seemed to help too. Still not sure why the proxy settings Mozilla were acting up, but I’m just glad it’s fixed.

Quick question though—does anyone know if Firefox saves proxy settings after updates? I’m worried it’ll reset again lol. Thanks again, y’all are the best!
Hey! I had this issue too, and it drove me nuts. Turns out, my ISP was blocking certain proxy servers. You might wanna check with your provider.

Also, try using a different proxy server. I use HideMyAss, and it’s been pretty reliable for me. Good luck!
Hmm, sounds like a tricky one. Have you tried using Firefox’s “No Proxy” option just to see if it connects? If it does, then the issue is definitely with your proxy settings Mozilla.

Another thing—make sure your Windows 10 network settings aren’t overriding Firefox. Sometimes Windows likes to take control lol.
Hey! I’m not super techy either, but I found this guide super helpful for setting up proxy settings Mozilla: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/con...gs-firefox.

It walks you through everything step by step. Maybe you missed something small? Worth double-checking!
Yo, I had this exact issue last week. Turns out, my proxy settings Mozilla were fine, but my router needed a reboot. Weird, right?

Also, try updating your network drivers. Sometimes outdated drivers mess with the connection. Hope that helps!
