sooo I just got hit with the "cant send messages for the next 24 hours instagram" thing and I’m lowkey freaking out??
Like, what did I even do?? I wasn’t spamming or anything, just texting my friends normally. Did this happen to anyone else?
Also, does this mean I can’t reply to DMs either?? Or just no new messages? Ugh, this is so annoying.
Pls help if you know how to fix this or if I just gotta wait it out. Thanks!
P.S. Anyone know if this affects stories or just DMs?
Hey, same thing happened to me last week! Instagram’s algorithm is super sensitive rn. Even if you weren’t spamming, sending too many messages in a short time can trigger the "cant send messages for the next 24 hours instagram" thing.
You can’t send new messages or reply to DMs during the ban, but you can still view them and post stories. Just wait it out, and maybe slow down on the messaging for a bit after.

thanks everyone for the replies! i tried logging out and back in, but it didn’t work. guess i’ll just have to wait it out.
also, i checked out IGBanFix and IGHelper – super helpful tips there. i’ll def slow down on the messaging after this.
one more question tho – does this affect my account’s visibility or just messaging? like, will my posts still show up in feeds? thanks again!
