"Is It Possible to Fake Your ISP IP Safely?"
Hey guys, been wondering if it's actually possible to fake your isp ip without getting into trouble? Like, I know VPNs and proxies exist, but do they *really* hide your real IP from your ISP?
Also, are there any reliable methods to fake your isp ip that won’t get you flagged? Heard stuff about TOR or residential proxies, but not sure how safe they are.
Kinda paranoid about getting caught, ngl. Anyone here tried it long-term? Would love some real-world advice, not just theory.
Thanks!
(PS: Pls no "just don’t do it" replies—looking for legit answers lol.)
VPNs and proxies *can* fake your isp ip, but it’s not foolproof. ISPs can sometimes detect VPN traffic, especially if it’s from known servers.
TOR is better for anonymity, but it’s slow af. Residential proxies are another option—they use real IPs from actual devices, so they’re harder to flag. Check out Luminati or Smartproxy if you wanna go that route.
Just remember, nothing’s 100%. If you’re doing shady stuff, even the best tools might not save you.
yo, i’ve been using nordvpn for years to fake my isp ip and no issues so far. their obfuscated servers are clutch if your isp is strict.
but yeah, TOR is overkill unless you’re doing something super risky. and residential proxies? expensive and sketchy if you don’t know the provider.
if you’re just trying to hide your ip for normal stuff, a good VPN is enough.
Technically, you *can* fake your isp ip, but it depends on how deep you wanna go. VPNs are the easiest, but some ISPs throttle or block them.
TOR is solid for privacy, but it’s not great for everyday use. Residential proxies are stealthier but pricey—websites like GeoSurf offer them, but you gotta pay.
If you’re paranoid, layer your methods. VPN + TOR + proxy chain. Overkill? Maybe. But it works.
lol @ the paranoia. i’ve used protonvpn to fake my isp ip for streaming and never got a warning.
just avoid free VPNs—they sell your data. and TOR? nah, unless you’re a journalist or something.
if you’re really worried, check out windscribe. they’ve got a “stealth” mode that hides vpn traffic. works like a charm.
Faking your isp ip isn’t illegal unless you’re doing illegal stuff. VPNs are fine for most people.
But if you’re trying to *completely* hide your ip, look into SOCKS5 proxies or rotating residential IPs. Providers like StormProxies are decent.
Just don’t expect miracles. ISPs are getting smarter, and some sites blacklist known proxy IPs.
i tried to fake my isp ip with a free proxy once—big mistake. got my connection throttled to hell.
paid VPNs are way better. expressvpn or surfshark are good picks. TOR’s overkill unless you’re *that* paranoid.
also, some ISPs log your activity even if you hide your ip. so… yeah. no such thing as perfect anonymity.
Thanks for the replies, guys! Super helpful.
I think I’ll try NordVPN first since a few of you mentioned it. The obfuscated servers sound like what I need.
Quick follow-up: anyone know if ISPs can still see *when* you’re using a VPN, even if they can’t see the traffic? Like, do they flag you just for connecting to one?
Also, lol @ the free proxy horror stories—noted. Never touching those.
