"Stuck with a proxy server—how do i turn off proxy server??"
ugh, this is so annoying. my internet’s been super slow and i think it’s bc of some proxy settings.
how do i turn off proxy server for good? i tried googling but the steps are all over the place.
windows 10 btw. pls help a noob out lol.
also, does disabling it mess with anything? kinda paranoid now.
thanks in advance!
hey! had the same issue last week. to turn off proxy server on windows 10, go to settings > network & internet > proxy.
under manual proxy setup, just toggle off "use a proxy server." that's it!
no, disabling it won’t mess anything up unless you’re in a workplace or school network. hope this helps!
omg i feel u. proxy settings can be such a pain.
try this:
- press win + r, type "inetcpl.cpl" and hit enter.
- go to connections > lan settings.
- uncheck "use a proxy server for your lan."
if ur still stuck, maybe check out a guide on howtogeek.com. they explain it well.
disabling proxy server is easy peasy!
open chrome > settings > system > open proxy settings.
from there, just turn it off. btw, if ur internet’s still slow after, might wanna run a malware scan. some viruses mess with proxy settings.
lol i was in the same boat. go to control panel > internet options > connections tab > lan settings.
uncheck the proxy box and hit ok.
also, nah, turning it off won’t break anything unless u’re using some weird vpn or work stuff.
yo, if u’re still wondering how do i turn off proxy server, here’s a quick fix:
1. open cmd as admin.
2. type "netsh winhttp reset proxy" and press enter.
this resets everything to default. worked for me when nothing else did.
thanks everyone! i followed the steps and finally got rid of the proxy server.
internet’s way faster now, but weirdly, netflix won’t load. could that be related? or just a coincidence?
also, big shoutout to the cmd trick—that was a lifesaver.
proxy servers can be a nightmare fr.
try this: open settings > network & internet > proxy. toggle off everything under manual setup.
if ur still paranoid, check out pchelpforum.com—they’ve got detailed threads on this stuff.
ugh proxies are the worst.
quick tip: sometimes browsers override system settings. so check chrome/firefox/edge proxy settings too.
disable any proxy there, and u should be good.
hey! disabling proxy server is simple af.
go to internet options > connections > lan settings.
just uncheck "use a proxy server" and u’re done.
btw, if ur internet’s still slow, might wanna reset ur router too.
