Title: How do I turn off the proxy server? Need help disabling it!
Hey everyone,
I’m kinda stuck here. For some reason, my internet’s acting up, and I think it’s because of a proxy server. I’ve been searching everywhere but can’t figure out how do i turn off the proxy server.
Checked the settings in Chrome and Windows, but no luck. Anyone else dealt with this before? Maybe I’m missing something obvious lol.
Also, if it helps, I’m on Windows 10. Would really appreciate any tips or steps to disable it.

Hey! I had the same issue last week. To disable the proxy server on Windows 10, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
Under "Manual proxy setup," toggle off "Use a proxy server."
Sometimes it’s also set in Chrome—check chrome://settings/system and disable "Open proxy settings" there.

Press Win + R, type "inetcpl.cpl," and hit Enter.
Go to the Connections tab > LAN settings.
Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN."

For Chrome, type chrome://settings/system in the address bar.

Thanks everyone for the tips! I tried the LAN settings thing and it worked—turns out some random app had enabled a proxy.
Weirdly, Chrome still acts up sometimes. Should I reset it completely? Or is there a way to make sure the proxy stays off?
