Proxy data is amazing, but yeah, it’s not perfect. Like, ice cores can tell us about past CO2 levels, but what if there were weird spikes that didn’t get recorded?

I’d suggest diving into some peer-reviewed papers on proxy data calibration. It’s dry reading, but it’ll give you a better sense of how reliable these methods are.
